The beautiful foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Andalucia

Untainted by mass tourism, Bubión is a typical white alpujarran village, built in Berber style by the Moors centuries ago. The whitewashed stone houses with their characteristic flat roofs and prominent chimney pots cluster haphazardly in narrow, twisting streets.

The pace of village life is slow and tranquil and it is not unusual to see sheep or goats herded through the village. The views from the village are stunning in every direction. To the north, the highest mountains on the Spanish mainland, Veleta and Mulhacén, rise up dramatically, and to the south, the Mediterranean sea glistens beyond the coastal mountain ranges.

Travel: Granada airport is closest (approx. 1 ½ hours). The alternatives are either Almería or Malaga (approx. 2 ½ hours). A daily bus is available from Granada to Bubión, but car hire is highly recommended as schedules are infrequent and do not fit in well with flight times.

Transfers to and from the airport can be organised for an extra charge but please inform us at least a week before arrival.

"We had an amazing holiday in Bubion. The apartment was beautiful, comfortable and had everything we needed. We just want to go back and spend some more hours sipping wine on the terrace, gazing at the gorgeous mountain views!"
